Merchak Aal Baher

Our experience with Merchak Aal Baher Batroun was deeply disappointing. We reserved our engagement lunch more than one month in advance because we trusted this restaurant to host one of the most important days of our lives. Instead, on the very day of our engagement, the floor manager called to tell us that our reserved table was no longer available due to a supposed "system issue." When we arrived, we discovered that the table had been given to former Lebanese President Michel Aoun, Gebran Bassil, and their family instead. At that moment, it became clear to us that our confirmed reservation—and the significance of our special day—meant less than accommodating influential guests. This was not just a reservation mistake. It was a complete failure to respect your customers. A reservation confirmed a month in advance should never be taken away at the last minute, especially for an occasion as important as an engagement. What makes this even more disappointing is the lack of honesty. Every guest deserves equal treatment and respect. This experience completely ruined what should have been one of the happiest days of our lives. It was unprofessional, disrespectful, and, in our opinion, unethical. We expected integrity, fairness, and professionalism from Merchak Aal Baher.

There are restaurants that earn your trust through professionalism, respect, and consistency—and there are those that manage to lose it in a single moment. Unfortunately, this was the latter. What should have been an enjoyable experience turned into one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I've had. The level of professionalism, attention to customers, and overall handling of the situation fell far below what anyone would reasonably expect from a reputable restaurant. A good reputation takes years to build but only moments to lose. Sadly, this experience has left a lasting impression for all the wrong reasons. Truly disappointing.
