Lola Restaurant

We visited Lola on a weekend evening for dinner with friends. The food was acceptable, but honestly nothing memorable. The same quality and dishes can easily be found in many other restaurants in Beirut. The atmosphere also felt very empty and lacked anything distinctive or special. As for the service, there was only one young waiter who was genuinely friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff were quite disrespectful and inattentive. Service is not only about bringing food to the table, but also about making guests feel comfortable and taken care of. Simple requests, such as serving or clearing the table, seemed to bother them despite the restaurant being nearly empty. For example, we asked for the table to be cleaned before bringing the cake, yet the cake was placed while dirty plates, cups, and leftover food were still on the table. With so many better dining experiences available in Beirut, this is not a place we would return to.
